West Indies bowler Roston Chase’s outstanding effort to dismiss Tilak Varma was one of the highlights of the fifth T20I against India on Sunday, August 13 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. The dismissal pushed India to the backfoot in the Indian innings of the decider.
The incident took place during the eighth over of the first innings. Roston Chase bowled a full-flighted delivery on the off-stump. Tilak Varma got forward to play the drive to long-off. However, his bat hit the ground and the ball hit the toe end. It went to the right of Roston Chase who was in his follow-through. The bowler leaped out and took a stunning one-handed catch. Tilak Varma had to walk out for 27 runs from 18 deliveries, with three boundaries and two sixes.
