Will Rain Affect Day 1 Of ENG vs IND 4th Test At Old Trafford?

India are set to face England in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, beginning Wednesday, July 23. Trailing 1-2 in the five-match series, the visitors must win this match to keep their series hopes alive. Under Shubman Gill’s leadership, India have shown glimpses of competitiveness but have often fallen short in crucial moments throughout the series.

At Headingley, unexpected batting collapses severely hurt their chances, while at Lord’s, they failed to chase a modest target of 193, eventually being dismissed for 170. These missed opportunities have cost them dearly. In addition to their inconsistency across batting, bowling, and fielding, India have also been plagued by injuries.

Batting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remainder of the series, while both Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh will miss the Manchester Test. As a result, fast bowler Anshul Kamboj could be in line for his Test debut in the fourth match at Old Trafford.
