Virat Kohli-led India sealed the T20I series after yet another impressive outing in Lauderhill. Opener Rohit Sharma boosted his T20I record and played a good hand of 67 off 51 balls. The deputy hit three sixes and half a dozen boundaries to get India off to a flying start.

Southpaw Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli got starts as well. The two top-order batters made 23 and 28 respectively. A timely flourish from all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who made an unbeaten 20 off 13 balls took India to 167/5 in 20 overs. Rain did play spoilsport half-way into the game as West Indies failed to get to DLS-reviewed target of 121 in 15.3 overs.

Sundar sends back Narine cheaply

Spinner Washington Sundar got the better of Sunil Narine as the Tamil Nadu tweaker castled his stumps. Sundar kept a check on the flow of runs and bowled in tight channels. Pandya, who did a good job with the bat earlier in the day, scalped two wickets and conceded 23 runs as the Windies were held at 98/4 after 15.3 overs.

Kohli praises the young all-rounder

“Had a really clinical game. The pitch was always going to be good to bat on first half. We set up a good foundation. Good finish to get to 165, the pitch slowed down considerably in the second half of our innings.” Kohli said post his side scripted a 22-run win.

The skipper had a word of praise for Sundar, who bowled impressively. The duo represents Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and Kohli clearly understands Sundar”s trait. “Winning the first two games always gives you a chance to give an opportunity to a few guys. Having said that, the idea is always to win. The way Washington has bowled against guys who come hard at the ball – he”s been outstanding. The composure he”s shown after being out for so long. He”s going to be a big factor. All in all he”s executing what he wants to perfectly at the moment.” he added.
