WPL 2023 Playoff Qualification Scenario:

For UP Warriorz: The UP Warriorz have had a mixed run in the 2023 Women’s Premier League so far. They will take on Gujarat Gaints and Delhi Capitals next in the tournament. To qualify for the playoffs, they need one win. If they defeat either Gujarat Giants or the Delhi Capitals, they will be through to the playoffs.

In case, the Warriorz failed to secure a win in both games, they can still qualify, thanks to their great NRR, which is better than Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants. However, if Royal Challengers Bangalore records a huge win against the Mumbai Indians, or Warriorz loses to Gujarat Giants by a good margin, they will have to head back home.

For Royal Challengers Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s fortune is tied by a thin rope in the playoff qualification race. They have just four points from seven matches and can get to a maximum of six points. Royal Challengers Bangalore will play against the Mumbai Indians next. They need to defeat the table-toppers by a huge margin to go past UP Warriorz’s NRR, and then pray for UP Warriorz to lose both their games. In this case, UP Waarrioz, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Giants will tie at six points, Bangalore needs to ensure their NRR is greater than the other two.

For Gujarat Giants: Gujarat Giants are in a similar position to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They need to secure a 130+ runs win against the UP Warriorz. Giants will also want the Warriorz to lose against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians to defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore.
