The Women’s Premier League WPL) announced the player’s retention list for the 2024 season on Thursday, October 19. The window to submit the list of retained players ended on October 15, 2023. The five teams have retained 69 players, including 21 overseas cricketers, while 29 players were released ahead of the auctions.
One of the notable names in the released players list is of Megan Schutt. She played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural season. In seven matches, she scored 52 runs at took four wickets. Meanwhile, Devika Vaidya has also been released from the team. She was part of the UP Warriorz team took one wicket and scored 77 runs. The UP Warriorz also released South African cricketer Shabnim Ismail.
