WTC 2023-25: All You Need To Know About New Zealand Tour Of Bangladesh
NZ tour of Bangladesh test series WTC 2023-25 cycle.

New Zealand and Bangladesh will begin the 2023-25 World Championship cycle with a 2-match Test series starting from 28th November onwards. It promises to be an exciting series as Bangladesh will miss the service of Tamim Iqbal, Shakib AL Hasan, and Liton Das while Taskin Ahmed will not feature due to an injury.

Kiwis have a great record over Bangladesh in Test matches. They played a total of 17 matches with New Zealand winning 13 while Bangla Tigers won only 1 and 3 ending in draws. It promises to be an exciting series as both teams look to start the new WTC cycle with a win.

New Zealand was scheduled to play a practice match in Sylhet, but they ended their journey in the semi-finals losing to India, and requested the match to avoid tiredness.

Bangladesh Squad

Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hasan Shanto (C), Mominal Haque, Nayeem Hasan, Nurul Hasan (WK), Hasan Mahmud, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Hasan Murad, Khaled Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Taijul Islam.

New Zealand

Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, Will Young, Tom Blundell (WK), Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Ajaz Patel, Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee (C), Neil Wagner, Mitchell Santer.

Here we look at the schedule of the New Zealand Test tour of Bangladesh of the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

  1. NZ vs Bang (28th November-2nd December 2023)- Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet.
  2. NZ vs Bang (6th– 10th December 2023)- Sher E Bangla Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka.

New Zealand would be looking to prove their worth in tough conditions that would aid the spinners. The captain that wins the toss would likely bat first putting pressure on posting decent first innings total and then not allowing batters to score runs freely.

Bangladesh will depend on their experienced players Rahim, and Shanto to post a decent total and then make sure that their spinners put pressure on the NZ batters.

On the other hand, New Zealand would be hoping their star batters like Mitchell, Tom Latham, and other batters put pressure on Bangladesh bowlers helping them to register victory.
