WTC Final 2021: I Will Check And Think Of Controversy If Possible – Poonam Pandey on WTC Final

Poonam Pandey is back with her limelight stealing statements. After a long hiatus post-2011 ODI World Cup where she created a lot of chatter with her announcement that she would strip if India won the tournament, Poonam has come back with a few more things to say.

At the moment, India is engaged in the WTC Final against New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Although Day 1 was washed out, play began on Day 2 with India being sent in to bat first. They finished the day early on 146/3, due to poor light putting a stop to the proceedings. Day 3 started off with New Zealand bouncing back strongly, bundling India for a below-par 217 in the first innings.

Poonam Pandey is set to stir up controversy again

In a conversation with SpotboyE, Poonam Pandey asked whether cricket was active again and that she would think of something new this time to rile up the media.

“Cricket chalu hai? Log cricket khel rahe hain? And if it is happening should I again say that I will strip if India wins this time? I have no clue about this. I will go back home. I will check and think of controversy if possible,” she said.

In the latest developments in the match, Kyle Jamieson took a five-wicket haul to restrict India to 217 runs in the first innings. Ajinkya Rahane was the highest run-scorer for India with 49 runs before getting out strangely. At Tea on Day 3, New Zealand were on top, having reached 36/0 with both their openers looking set for the long haul.
