Team India have confirmed their 15-member squad for the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, which starts from June 18 (Friday). This comes hours after the Black Caps revealed their squad for the illustrious tie.
Rohit Sharma is all set for his first red-ball assignment in England as an opener alongside Shubman Gill. Along with it, skipper Virat Kohli, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, and premier batsman Cheteshwar Pujara were heavily tipped to feature in the formidable batting order of the Asian giants.
The pace bowling unit of Team India is spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Umesh Yadav. The management has shown trust in the experience of Umesh ahead of Shardul Thakur, who had earned praise for his lionhearted efforts during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year.
Promising young talents Mohammed Siraj and Rishabh Pant have also been included in the 15-man squad. Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha who is also named in the 15-man squad is likely to be a backup for an in-form Pant, who has had a stellar run in recent times.
