Batting sensation Prithvi Shaw was once again ignored by the Indian selectors as they picked the limited-overs squads for the upcoming New Zealand tour. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the T20I and the ODI squad on Monday, for the New Zealand tour, which will kickstart later this month. Prithvi Shaw’s non-selection in the team became a talking point on social media.
The Mumbai batter has been in tremendous form in domestic cricket off late. Opening the innings, he has played the aggressor role to perfection for his side. In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022, Prithvi Shaw has scored 287 runs in eight matches at an average of 41 and at a strike rate of 186.36. His run tally includes a fifty and a century.

Prithvi Shaw last played for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka in his debut T20I. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the match. Since then, the opening batter has been out of the Indian team. His non-selection in Team India’s squad for the New Zealand tour left the fans disappointed. The fans took to social media to share their thoughts on his exclusion.
Let’s take a look at how fans reacted to Prithvi Shaw’s non-selection for the New Zealand series:
We must be the greatest cricket playing nation ever if Prithvi Shaw is not good enough to get into an India squad in any of the formats, leave alone make the XI!

Feel for Prithvi Shaw.
India announced 3 white ball squads today, in which two – all the seniors were rested but no space for a guy who has proven & made huge impact in domestic cricket.
I don't know what he has to do more to play in the Indian team.

Could anyone tell me what guys like Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw need to do to get a place in India’s Test and limited-overs teams’ respectively? As of now, it seems exceptional performances at the domestic level aren’t enough!

Gills pips Shaw to get his maiden T20 call up. Well, we’re living in a parallel universe #DoddaMathu #CricketTwitter #IndiaT20Squad

What does Prithvi Shaw need to do to break into the T20 squad? And if you aren't going to give Sarfaraz Khan a break now… then when?

India playing 3 white-ball series almost immediately after this #T20WC2022 but Prithvi Shaw not a part of any of them. 🤷🏻♂️

Prithvi Shaw will get a chance soon says Chetan Sharma. Just don't get how he is not part of any of the squads announced today.

Still can’t believe the BCCI hasn’t considered Prithvi Shaw for the T20s.
He’s the batter who can make full use of the power play. He has been smashing runs for fun in the SMAT but still the selectors aren’t convinced.#PrithviShaw #BCCI

No Prithvi Shaw. Ye andha kanoon hai. #CricketTwitter

Prithvi Shaw constantly getting snubbed for the national team is getting weird at this point. Guy is the actual generational talent in terms of his ability and intent. Can't believe this Sehwag regen hasn't been given the run he deserves for whatever reasons.
