“Your Energy Fuels Our Journey” – Rishabh Pant Expresses Gratitude To Delhi Capitals Supporters

Rishabh Pant, captain of Delhi Capitals (DC), thanked the franchise’s fans and shared images from the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai. In a special message on social media, he conveyed that the fans’ energy is a driving force for the team’s journey.

Pant, who had been sidelined due to injuries from a car accident last year, participated in the IPL auction alongside head coach Ricky Ponting and team director Sourav Ganguly. His presence at the Dubai event garnered attention with pictures and videos circulating on social media.

On December 21, Pant shared highlights from the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on his official Instagram handle. He posted pictures with DC fans and heartwarming shots alongside coach Ponting. The wicketkeeper-batsman accompanied the images with a caption:

“Auction vibes! Grateful to connect with the amazing @delhicapitals supporters at IPL auction. Your energy fuels our journey.”

In addition to being present at the auction, Pant was seen engaging in a game of pickleball with MS Dhoni in Dubai. A video capturing the moment gained popularity on social media.

“Lucky to be alive” – Pant thinks about a very bad accident

Before the Dubai auction, Pant shared how his life took a turn after a severe car accident late last year. In an interview with iplt20.com, he acknowledged the difficulties but emphasized that his recovery has been positive.

“The kind of accident I had, [I’m] lucky to be alive. I think it was very challenging, especially the first part I would say more from a physical point of view because in the starting there was a lot of pain to be endured.”

“But just looking at the journey till now, I think it’s been going really well from a recovery point of view. I felt like I couldn’t face people and all, and I felt like I had to do something which gives me confidence,” Pant said.

“Yes, it’s a hard time but I came to know people love us, respect us and the kind of appreciation and concern people have shown over a period of time because of my injury, it was heartfelt, crazy for me, because it means a lot as an individual when you’re going through a very rough time,” the keeper-batter added.

Pant has participated in 98 IPL games, amassing 2838 runs at an average of 34.61 and a strike rate of 147.97, including one century and 15 half-centuries.
