On Thursday, December 11, 2023, world-class cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur were honored by having two stadium stands named after them at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recognized both superstars before the second T20I match of India-South Africa.
Besides them were present Harmanpreet’s World Cup partner Harleen Deol, Amanjot Kaur, fielding coach Munish Bali, and the new BCCI president Mithun Manhas. It was her fifth World Cup and she showed great leadership by bringing the team back to life after three straight losses. Mullanpur not only was a historic venue for a men’s international match but also strengthened its position as a prime cricket venue in Punjab.
