The former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is an illustrious chapter of Indian cricket. His career is nothing less than a cinema plot. From winning two World Cup in the Men in Blue jersey to battling cancer and making a comeback to the field, Yuvraj’s story has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster. Recently, he revealed the name of the actor whom he would like to play the lead role in his biopic.

One of the most successful white-ball cricketers of all time, Yuvraj Singh scored 8,702 runs in ODIs and including a total of 52 fifties. He has also represented India in Test cricket, earning 40 caps. However, he wasn’t a regular member of the Test side and faced stiff competition from his colleagues.

The all-rounder last played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. He scored 98 runs for four matches including a half-century against Delhi Capitals. Yuvraj also played significant roles in India’s two biggest wins of the last decade- Word T20 in 2007 and the World Cup in 2011.

It is evident from his story that it will be a grand success if it hits the theatres. While there is still no official announcement about it but Yuvraj Singh has already named the actor he would love to see him play the lead role in his biopic. According to a report in Latestly, Yuvraj was asked who he thinks can portray him the best on-screen and he came up with the name of Siddhant Chaturvedi, who impressed in his Bollywood debut film ‘Gully Boy’.

“Probably, I’d play myself — that would be a bit desperate… (chuckles) hai, na? See, that’s the director’s job to decide. If it’s going to be a Bollywood film, then Siddhant Chaturvedi — the guy who played MC Sher in ‘Gully Boy’ is a good option; I’d love to see him in the film,” said Yuvraj Singh.

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi has the experience of playing a cricketer on camera with Inside Edge. On the work front, Chaturvedi will be seen next in Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2020), followed by Shakun Batra’s untitled next, alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday.
