Yuvraj Singh was arguably the greatest match-winner India have ever produced in white-ball cricket. The left-handed batsman was the hero of 2007 World T20 and 2011 ODI World Cup. Beside that, Yuvraj has won India several games all over the world.
2014 T20 World Cup final against Sri Lanka, on the other hand, was one match that Yuvraj would like to forget. The elegant batsman wasn’t his usual self in the tournament, especially in the all-important final. Batting first, India could only manage 130 runs on the board and the fans and media blamed Yuvraj for this. Yuvraj Singh batting at number four, could only make 11 runs off 21 balls. This slow innings of the Punjab-born all-rounder proved costly for India as they lost the final.

“I always take responsibility for that innings, I did not play well. Unfortunately, that was a World Cup final. If it was any other game scrutiny would not have been that much. When I got back home, I felt like a villain. I remember getting out of the airport and luckily I had my headphones on, I got attacked by media and they were literally shouting at me”.
“Yes, there were Stones in my house as well. I felt like a culprit like somebody has shot somebody and was going to jail. I bounced back from it, but I still remember how I felt”, Yuvraj said.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh called time on his career last year after playing in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. Since then, the dashing all-rounder has featured in the Global T20 Canada and Abu Dhabi T10 League.
