India suffered their first defeat on Sunday, October 30, against South Africa at Perth Stadium in Perth. The Proteas won the game by five wickets and two balls to spare.

India won the toss and opted to bat. They didn’t get off to the best of starts. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul struggled against the pace of the South Bowlers. The in-form man, Virat Kohli, also had a brief at the crease yesterday. There was a point where the team was reduced to 49-5.

Courtesy of Suryakumar Yadav’s 68, India reached a score of 133 yesterday. Even though the team struggled, he didn’t compromise his natural attacking mindset against the pace battery of South Africa.

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who is yet to play a game in this world cup, was seen yesterday having fun with the umpires with his hilarious acts. He doesn’t miss out on an opportunity to have fun and enjoy himself.

The incident occurred in the third over when KL Rahul was in a lot of pain when the physio attended to him. Yuzvendra Chahal first hit umpire Langton Rusere with his knee and punched him in fun and games before going to the dugout.

Here’s the video of his hilarious act:

The experienced Ravichandran Ashwin is seen as the team’s preferred spinner given his experience in such conditions and the bigger boundaries in Australia.

South Africa trump India in a low-scoring thriller

Lungi Ngidi stood out among the Proteas, picking up four wickets yesterday in his quota of overs. He was supported by Wayne Parnell and Anrich Nortje, who picked up 3 and 1 wickets, respectively.

The Aiden Markram and David Miller partnership were crucial for the Proteas to go past the line. Both their half-centuries played a significant role. Now they have topped their group with 5 points and are closer to qualifying for the semi-finals.
