ZIM vs IND: [WATCH]- Mukesh Kumar Dismisses Wesley Madhevere With A Stunning Delivery

Mukesh Kumar gave India an early advantage in the fifth and last T20I at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 14, against Zimbabwe. The fast bowler made an impact in his initial over by removing Wesley Madhevere, who was dismissed for a three-ball duck, dealing a blow to Zimbabwe’s chase right from the start.

The wicket fell when Mukesh delivered a short-of-a-good-length ball angled in, catching Madhevere on the crease. The right-handed batsman ended up chopping the ball onto his stumps.

It’s worth mentioning that in the fourth T20I, Madhevere made 25 runs from 24 deliveries and notably partnered with Tadiwanashe Marumani to achieve a 63-run opening stand. Mukesh Kumar did not play in that match.

Mukesh Kumar has shown his prowess in the T20I series, securing four wickets in his last two appearances, notably achieving figures of 3/37 in the fourth match.

India established a target of 168 runs for Zimbabwe in the fifth T20I, with Mukesh Kumar taking an early wicket

India, batting first, posted a total of 167/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Sanju Samson led the scoring with 58 runs off 45 balls, featuring four sixes and one boundary. Shivam Dube contributed 26 runs from 12 deliveries, while Riyan Parag added 22 runs off 24 balls. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 11 runs off nine balls.

Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 2/19. Skipper Sikandar Raza, Richard Ngarava, and Brandon Mavuta claimed one wicket each. At the time of reporting, Zimbabwe had reached 119/6 after 17.2 overs, with Mukesh Kumar having taken two wickets in his three overs.

India have already secured an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. They suffered a 13-run defeat in the series opener while chasing a modest target of 116 runs. However, led by Shubman Gill, the team bounced back strongly with victories by 100 runs, 23 runs, and 10 wickets in the subsequent matches.

Next up for the Men in Blue is a series against Sri Lanka, comprising three T20Is and ODIs, starting from July 27th.
