Alex Carey Picks His Combined India-Australia T20 Team; Axes Rohit Sharma
Alex Carey has played 28 T20I matches for Australia.

With no cricket due to the lockdown, cricketers have become extremely active in social media. A trend of all-time XI has stormed the internet in recent time with no actual cricket taking place due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey also joined the bandwagon. Carey was slated to represent the Delhi Capitals in this year’s Indian Premier League; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season got postponed.

The southpaw was recently part of a live chat on Delhi Capitals Instagram page. When it came to picking a combined India-Australia XI, Carey surprisingly had no place for the swashbuckling opener, Rohit Sharma. In place of Rohit, the Australian picked his Delhi Capitals teammate Shikhar Dhawan.

Rohit is currently the second-highest run-scorer in T20I and has hit 3 tons. However, Alex Carey picked Shikhar Dhawan and his Australian teammate David Warner as his openers. The middle-order consisted of two of the leading batsman in the world today, Steve Smith and Virat Kohli. He also picked one more of his IPL teammate, Rishabh Pant, to bat at number 5.

Carey picked himself as the wicketkeeper-batsman of his combined India-Australia T20 side. The only all-rounder in the side was Ravindra Jadeja and the lone specialist spinner in the side was Adam Zampa. Alex Carey went with some the lethal fast bowlers of this generation for the combined XI. The trio of Mitchell Star, Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins was picked as his three fast bowlers.
