The bilateral series between India and Pakistan is still in tatters due to the ongoing issues with the neighbouring countries for a long time. Though few test series were planned to be played at UAE, they are getting delayed to the “not-so-good” ties between them.

Meanwhile, BCCI asked a formal statement from the Government of India regarding the series. India last played an ODI series against Pakistan in the 2012-13 season when the hosts were blown away by the majestic centuries from Nasir Jamshed.

“The BCCI would be grateful if you could formally convey the policy/position of the Government of India on the need or requirement of prior clearance from the Government of India for the Indian cricket team to play the Pakistan cricket in inbound or outbound tours,” BCCI recently wrote to the ministry.

When asked about this specific email to a BCCI official from the PTI, he said that these kind of emails are a part of routine communication and its BCCI”s duty to get a nod before making any plans for the bilateral series.“ We understand that bilateral series in prevailing circumstances is very difficult. But if we get a reply from the government in “black and white”, it will help us,” said the official.

It is to be noted that BCCI will have to pay a huge compensation to PCB for not adhering to the MOU signed in 2014. Before any proceedings from the ICC, the richest cricket organization is in a need of a proper information from the government.

“The International Cricket Council on Monday confirmed that the Hon Michael Beloff QC will chair the Dispute Panel in the matter of proceedings between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India,” ICC  said in a release.

It also mentioned that hearing will take place as per article 10.4 of the terms and reference of ICC disputes resolution committee and it further stated that the decision will be non-applicable and would remain as the final one. It will take place from October 1-3 at ICC headquarters, Dubai.
