The stylish left-handed opener and wicketkeeper for South Africa made his ODI debut against New Zealand on 19th January 2013. He has played so far 90 matches and scored 3860 runs with an average of 45.41, 13 centuries and 15 half-centuries to his name.

India toured South Africa in 2013. In the first ODI played at Johannesburg against team India on 5th December 2013, de Kock smashed 135 off 121 balls with 18 fours and 3 sixes. South Africa posted a massive total of 358 for 4 in 50 overs. Chasing the target of 359, India were bowled out for 217 in 41 overs. Quinton de Kock for his 135 was named the man of the match.

He continued his superb touch in the 2nd One day international played at Durban on 8th December 2013. Opening with Hashim Amla, de Kock scored 106 off 118 balls with 9 fours. South Africa posted 280 for 6 in 49 overs. Chasing the target of 281, India were bowled out for 146 in 35.1 overs. De Kock for his 106 was named the man of the match.

In the last match of series played at Super Sports Park, Centurion played on 11th December 2013, South Africa batted first and posted 301 for 8 in 50 overs. Quinton de Kock made 101 off 120 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.  The match ended in a no result due to rain.
