A batsman has to just block the balls again and again and look for an opportunity to strike the runs.

The ultimate format of the game requires ultimate skills to perform ultimately good. Historically we have witnessed many centuries, double centuries, and triple centuries in the game. Meanwhile, The 5-day-match format has seen thirty-one 300+ scores, However, only one batsman has reached the mark of 400 runs.

#10 David Warner

The explosive Aussie batsman was in the mood to just bat forever, he managed to neutralize the Pakistan bowling attack. No bowler from the Pakistan side was able to send Warner Back to the pavilion in that Test Match. He surpassed the score of legendary Australian Don Bradman (334) and Mark Taylor (334*). In the end, Australia won the match by an innings and 48 runs.

Australia star opener David Warner scored 335* runs in 418 balls against Pakistan at Adelaide. His innings were filled with 39 fours and 1 six, Warner batted with the strike rate of 80.14. This Historical inning came back on 29 November 2019 ICC World Test Championship 2nd D/N Test match.


#9 Wally Hammond

The English batsman played a beautiful knock and remained not out till the end of the game. No Kiwi bowlers were able to pick the wicket of Hammond. However, Hammond wasn’t able to help his team win the match. The Test match resulted in a draw.

England Star Batsman Wally Hammond scored 336* runs against New Zealand at Auckland. His innings were filled with 34 fours and 10 sixes. This Historical inning came back on 31 March 1933 in England tour of New Zealand 2nd Test Match.


#8 Hanif Mohammad

Hanif was at his best against the fierce West Indies in that match. He went on to score a triple century before getting out on the delivery of DS Atkinson. However, even after his efforts, the match ended in a draw.

Pakistan Star Batsman Hanif Mohammad scored 337 runs against West Indies at Bridgetown. His innings were filled with 24 fours and no six. This Historical inning came back on 17 January 1958 in Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies 1st Test match.


#7 Sanath Jayasuriya

This match witnessed the highest score by a team history of Test cricket. Sri Lanka managed to score 952 runs at the loss of 6 Wickets. This match had only 2 innings among which 4 players scored a century, 1 Double century, and one Triple century. The main man of Sri Lanka scored a classy triple century and the match was drawn.

Sri Lankan star batsman Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 runs in 578 balls against India at Colombo. His innings were filled with 36 fours and 2 sixes, Lara batted with a strike rate of 58.82. This Historical inning came back on 2 August 1997 in India tour of Sri Lanka 1st Test Match.


#6 Leonard Hutton

The English batsman was in the mood to frustrate the opposition Australia. He kept on to bat until the team reached a score of 770. Eventually, he was dismissed by O’Reilly after a sensational triple hundred. Meanwhile, England won the match by an innings and 579 runs

Legend Sir Garry Sobers was unstoppable against the Pakistanis. He remained not out after a triple hundred. With the help of all-rounder’s innings, West Indies won the match by an innings and 174 runs.

West Indies star player Garry Sobers scored 365* runs against Pakistan at Kingston. His innings were filled with 38 fours and 0 six. This Historical inning came back on 26 February 1958 in the Pakistan tour of the West Indies 3rd Test match.


#4. Mahela Jayawardene

One of the greatest batsmen on the Sri Lankan team. Captain Mahela played an extraordinary knock against the Proteas. Also in the same match, Kumar Sangakkara scored 287. With the help of these two innings, Sri Lanka reached a score of 756/5. Also, Sri Lanka won the match by an innings and 153 runs

#3 Brian Lara

Legend Brian Lara reached very close to score a 400 against England. However, he failed to reach the score of 400 runs mark by just 25 runs. Lara was dismissed by Caddick in that Test match. Also, the match resulted in a draw.

West Indies Champion Batsman Brian Lara scored 375 runs in 538 balls against England at St John’s. His innings were filled with 45 fours and no six, Lara batted with a strike rate of 69.70 This Historical inning came back on 16 April 1994 in England’s tour of the West Indies 5th Test match.


#2 Matthew Hayden

The legendary opener on his home Test went berserk against the Zimbabwean bowling unit. Hayden reached so close to 400 runs by failed to achieve the milestone. He got out just 20 runs before the 400 milestones. The bowler to dismiss Hayden was Gripper. However in the end Australia won the match by an innings and 175 runs.

Australian Star Batsman Matthew Hayden scored 380 runs in 437 balls against Zimbabwe at Perth. His innings were filled with 38 fours and 11 sixes, Hayden batted with the strike rate of 86.95. This Historical inning came back on 09 October 2003 in The zimbabwe tour of Australia 1st Test match.


#1 Brian Lara

An unachievable target was achieved, history was made by a Legendary batsman. Lara finally scored a first-ever 400 in Test cricket which is the highest individual Test score. His innings came against the same opposition against which he was dismissed just before 25 runs before 400.

This time England was unable to stop Lara and he went all out on English bowlers. Brian was not in the mood to stop batting in that Test match and remained not out even after scoring a 400. Meanwhile, the match ended in a draw.
