The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council has released a list of 1214 cricketers, who have registered for the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction. Australia’s T20 World Cup heroes David Warner and Mitchell Marsh are among the 49 cricketers that have listed their base price at the maximum of INR 2 crore.
The list includes 17 Indian and 32 foreign cricketers. Some of the big names on the list include Ravichandran Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Steven Smith, Shakib al Hasan, Mark Wood, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Dwayne Bravo.
The likes of Devdutt Padikkal, IPL 2021’s highest wicket-taker Harshal Patel have also registered in the highest brack, including West Indies’ Odean Smith, who is completely an unknown commodity in IPL.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu batter Shahrukh Khan, who is likely to get a massive bid and even rejected an offer from his previous franchise Punjab Kings, has put his base price at the minimum of INR 20 lakhs. Avesh Khan, who was the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021 has also registered in the INR 20 lakh capping.

The notable absentees from the longlist of IPL 2022 mega auction are Mitchell Starc, Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Chris Gayle, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes.
Overall, a total of 1214 cricketers, including 270 capped players, 312 uncapped players and 41 from Associate countries, have enlisted themselves in the registered auction pool.
