After a thrilling victory against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh is all set to take on India at the Adelaide Oval, on Wednesday, October 2 in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan accepted that India is one of the favorites to win the tournament. However, he expressed that they will try their best to pull off an upset in the upcoming clash.

Bangladesh ranks third on the Group 2 points table with two wins from three matches, and an NRR of -1.533. They kicked off the tournament well, registering a nine runs win over the Netherlands. However, they suffered a huge loss in the second game against South Africa, hence their NRR took a beating. Ahead of the match against India, Shakib Al Hasan stated,

“I think it will be a good game. India are the favourite heading into the match. They have come here to win the World Cup, we are not here to win the World Cup. You can understand the situation, if we win against India, it will be upset and we will try our best to upset India.”

Suryakumar Yadav is probably their No.1 batter the last year: Shakib Al Hasan

Team India batter Suryakumar Yadav has been in stupendous form in the ongoing 2022 T20 World Cup. He has proved to be an asset for Team India in the middle order. The right-handed batter has scored 134 runs in three matches at an average of 67 so far in the tournament. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan opined that Suryakumar Yadav is India’s best batter in terms of records last year. He said,

“He has been playing really well for them. I think he is probably their No.1 batter in terms of the record in the last year. They have few world-class players, we have not done our team meetings yet. We will talk about the areas we need to look after in the team meetings. If we want to win, we have to take care of all the departments.”
