While the entire cricketing world is focused on the T20 World Cup, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced the squad for the upcoming tour of New Zealand on Monday, October 31. The Indian team will play a series of three T20Is and as many ODIs in New Zealand immediately after the T20 World Cup.

Some experienced players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul have been rested for the series, while Hardik Pandya has been given the T20 captaincy and Shikhar Dhawan Will be ODI Captain. Although many young players have been given a chance in the Indian T20 team, some players are surprised that they did not get a chance.

In this article, we will look at three players who should have got a chance in the T20 series against New Zealand.

#1 Prithvi Shaw

Cricket experts are expressing surprise over Prithvi Shaw not being included in the Indian T20 squad. Prithvi has been consistently performing well in IPL as well as domestic cricket for some time now and it was expected that he will get a chance in this series.

He has that X-factor that the Indian team desperately needs in the top order. Prithvi also got a little emotional over not being included in the team and has also expressed his feelings through social media.

#2 Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi was included in the stand-by players for the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia. Therefore, Bishnoi’s exclusion from the T20 series against New Zealand has shocked many.

Bishnoi has consistently performed well in international cricket by grabbing opportunities with both hands, and he can surely prove to be a star player for the Indian team in the future. However, Ravi Bishnoi has not been included in the ODI squad as well, which is certainly surprising.

#3 Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad was included in India’s T20 squad for the last few series. Given that the first-choice cricketers are unavailable for the series, Ruturaj’s absence from the squad for the series against New Zealand rings a few bells.

The Chennai Super Kings opener has consistently performed well in the IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the last few years and he can definitely be an important player for the Indian team. It will be interesting to see whether Ruturaj is included in the Indian team in the next few series or not.
