Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had an amazing first half of the Indian Premier League 2021 edition. The Bangalore-based franchise won 5 out of 7 matches in the Indian T20 league. Before the tournament suspension, Kohli and Co. were sitting at the number 3 spot in the points table.
The 15th edition of Indian Premier League; IPL 2022 is all set to have a mega auction. And the franchises can only retain a maximum of three players (or less) before the auctions. One obvious retention choice for Royal challengers Bangalore is definitely Captain Virat Kohli.
Also alongside Kohli, his best friend and Legendary Proteas batsman Ab de Villiers will be retained. There is a feature in IPL which allows IPL teams to buy back few players who have played for the team. In the auction, the franchisee can use the Right to Match (RTM) card to attain that feature and include players in the squad.

5. Kyle Jamieson
RCB bought New Zealand pacer, Kyle Jamieson, at the price of whopping 15 crores before IPL 2021. Spending a massive amount on the Kiwi pace All-rounder turned out to be a good decision for team RCB. Lanky pacer Jamieson did a pretty good job with the ball in IPL 2021.
Jamieson represented the Bangalore franchise in all 7 matches. Kyle was able to pick 9 crucial wickets for the team at a strike rate of 16.00. Adding to it he was the second-highest wicket-taker for RCB in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Due to the impressive performance of the giant pacer RCB might be looking forward to adding him to the squad. Banglore will surely be looking forward to using the Right to match card on him to attain his services.

4. Yuzvendra Chahal
Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has played 105 matches for the team. Chahal has picked 125 wickets at an average of 23.03 for the franchise. Also leggie Chahal is the only third player after Kohli and De Villiers to feature in 100+ matches for team RCB.
Notably, Chahal is the only bowler who has picked 100 plus wickets while playing for the RCB side. However, Chahal has gone through a rough patch lately. Yuzvendra was only able to scalp 4 wickets at an average of 47.50 in the 14th edition of the IPL.
Still, Chahal has achieved a lot of heights in the shortest format of the game. Literally, RCB can’t exclude Chahal from the RTM card list. The franchise would definitely want Chahal to continue with them in IPL 2021.
3. Mohammed Siraj
The 27-year-old Pacer Siraj is a great hit the deck bowler who can surprise the batsman with the dangerous bouncer, Siraj also possesses the skill to swing the deliveries on a decent bowling track. 2021 edition IPL was a pretty good one for the right arm pacer.
In the 14th edition of IPL, Siraj picked 6 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 31.83. His bowling economy rate too was good too considering the format, he gave away only 7.34 runs per over.
Mohammed Siraj has represented RCB in 36 and has scalped 35 wickets at a strike rate of 20.90. He has evolved himself into a completely different bowler after making his international debut. Siraj is now a better version of himself, RCB can’t ignore right-arm pacer while using an RTM card.
2. Devdutt Padikkal
Opener Devdutt Padikkal has turned out to be one of the biggest assets for the Virat Kohli-led franchise. Devdutt made his debut for RCB in 2020 and impressed everyone in his first IPL season. Padikkal scored 473 runs in IPL 2020 with an average of 31.53 including five marvelous fifties.
The 2021 edition of IPL turned out to be even better. The southpaw scored 195 runs in the 6 matches at an average of 39.00 and an excellent strike rate of 152.34 including one sensational century.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will unquestionably look up to retaining a 20-year-old opener using the RTM card.
1. Glenn Maxwell
Australian Glenn Maxwell is a complete game-changer. He can turn the game in favor of his team in just one over. When Maxi is in the mood he goes berserk against the opposition bowling lineup.
RCB spending whopping ₹14.25 crores for Maxwell surprisingly was a great decision. The Australian batting all-rounder scored 223 runs while representing Virat Kohli’s side in 6 games. Maxwell batted in the 14th edition of IPL with an average of 37.16, and a strike rate of 144.80.
Looking at Maxwell’s sensational current form, RCB will be in no mood to let him go away from the franchise. Banglore-based franchises can undoubtedly use RTM to retain aggressive batsmen on their team before IPL 2022.
