The right-handed opening batsman for India, Navjot Singh Sidhu played a total of 51 test matches and 136 One day Internationals. He made his test debut on 12th November 1983 and retired on 6th January 1999 against New Zealand.

He made his ODI debut against Australia on 9th October 1987 and retired on 20th September 1998. After successfully completing cricket, he became a commentator and judge in a reality show.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was a member of Rajya Sabha from Punjab in 2016 before quitting the party. Again in 2017 he decided to contest elections from Amritsar East in Punjab Assembly Elections and won the elections.
