Former India skipper MS Dhoni has come out to donate Rs 1 lakh to the daily-wage workers in Pune amid the outbreak of the pandemic coronavirus. The decision comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a complete lockdown in the country for the next 21 days to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
The virus has started to spread rapidly with India witnessing seven deaths on March 26 (Thursday) – the most in a day so far. The number of positive cases has also gone up rapidly in the last few days and the government are trying every possible way to curb its spread.

The lockdown of workplaces and schools have badly hurt a major chunk of people who are below the poverty level. As a result, MS Dhoni took up the noble decision donated the amount to Mukul Madhav Foundation, a public charitable trust in Pune, through a crowdfunding website called Ketto.
The money will be used to provide relief kits in Pune to the daily-wage workers who have borne the brunt of COVID-19 lockdown. Dhoni’s donation will provide the families with relief kits to support them for 14 days during this lockdown.
However, the small amount of donation didn’t bode well with many who vented their frustration on social media. Reportedly, MS Dhoni has a net worth of Rs 800 crores and many felt that the donation was a mere publicity stunt to be in the news in this grave situation.

Dhoni Donates to Help 100 Poor Families During COVID-19 Lockdown.
Net worth – 800 crore💰💰
Donation – 1 lakhThis is meant to support 100 families for 14 days. 🤔
100 x 14 x 3 meals = 4200 meals. 1,00,000 / 4200 = 23 bucks per meal. 😱😱
Well done MSD. 👍👍
