Mukesh’s excitement was evident as he celebrated the dismissal, with captain Virat Kohli embracing him, and other Indian teammates joining in to mark the occasion. Shortly after the dismissal, rain interrupted play for over an hour, leading to an early lunch break on the third day.

Mukesh’s Test call-up followed an impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy for Bengal, where he took 22 wickets in five matches. In addition, he played for the Delhi Capitals in the 2023 Indian Premier League and earned commendation from the team’s coach, Ricky Ponting.
