[WATCH]- Romario Shepherd Blasts 26 Runs In 5 Balls In ILT20 2025

West Indies and MI Emirates all-rounder Romario Shepherd unleashed a brutal assault on Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) pacer Ali Khan during their ILT20 2025 match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Shepherd smashed three sixes and two fours, amassing 26 runs off the final five balls.

Akeal Hosein started the over with a single, giving the strike to Romario Shepherd. Taking advantage of a low full-toss from Ali Khan, Shepherd launched it over the cow-corner for a six. He followed up with two consecutive boundaries and then cleared the long leg boundary with another massive six.

Shepherd capped off the innings with one more maximum, helping the Emirates amass 77 runs in the final 5.1 overs. You can watch the video here:

The 30-year-old remained unbeaten on 38 off just 13 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes, powering his team to a total of 186/6 in 20 overs. Despite dismissing Kieron Pollard (5) and Dan Mousley (6) early, Ali Khan ended with expensive figures of 4-0-58-2.

Skipper Nicholas Pooran led the scoring for MI Emirates with 49, while Kusal Perera (23) and Muhammad Waseem (38) provided valuable support.

Romario Shepherd’s explosive cameo sinks Knight Riders

The seam-bowling all-rounder’s explosive knock of 38 turned out to be crucial as the Knight Riders’ middle-order collapse swung the momentum back in favor of the Emirates. Despite a solid start from Kyle Mayers and Andries Gous, the middle-order failed to deliver.

Andre Russell showed glimpses of brilliance and looked capable of chasing down the target of 187. However, with little support, the Jamaican remained unbeaten on 37 off 23 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes, as ADKR finished on 158/9 in 20 overs.

The Emirates, the defending champions, secured their third win of the tournament, while the Knight Riders endured their third loss.
