[WATCH] Ravindra Jadeja Uproots Australian Middle Order with Two Wickets

Ravindra Jadeja took two crucial wickets against Australia in the middle overs in the semi-final match of Champions Trophy 2025. The left arm spinner first got Marnus Labuschagne via LBW (Leg Before Wicket) on the 23rd over. Jadeja’s second wicket came quite soon in the form of catch out when Josh Inglis went on the back foot and punched the ball in the covers, right into the hands of Virat Kohli.

While Labuschagne has played quite a lot against Jadeja over the years, and was also set having faced 35 deliveries before he got out, Inglis hasn’t faced the experienced Indian left armer much. Ravindra Jadeja always tries to get through his over as fast as possible. In the domestic cricket, coaches often talk about how quickly Jadeja finishes his over and teach young and budding cricketers to do the same.

Did Australia Struggle Against Jadeja?

While Australia didn’t really struggle against playing Jadeja, they did lose two key wickets to the left arm spinner quite fast. He is a clever bowler and understands how the wicket is playing and what he needs to do. One of his strengths is to play with the speed. Whenever Jadeja is confident, he tends to bowl slightly more in the air and tries to get the batsman to play more and take risks.

Australia did manage to score 50 runs off Jadeja from his first eight overs. So while he gave runs at a nominal rate, because he got two wickets, he got the last laugh. Apart from him, there’s also Axar Patel who was successful in getting rid of Maxwell fast after getting hit for a maximum (six).
