Digvesh Rathi, a 25-year-old mystery spinner from Delhi, has quickly gained attention in the cricketing world. These remarkable displays earned him a place in Delhi’s squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024/25. In two matches against Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, Rathi delivered standout performances, taking three wickets at an average of 6.33 and an economy rate of just 2.71.

Recognizing his potential, LSG’s scouting team secured Rathi’s services for INR 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction. His bowling style has drawn comparisons to West Indies’ Sunil Narine, as he skillfully conceals the ball in his run-up, making it challenging for batters to predict his deliveries. His repertoire includes deceptive variations like googlies and carrom balls, which add to his effectiveness as a bowler.
Rathi’s journey to the IPL has been closely linked with Ayush Badoni, under whom he made his DPL and T20 debuts. Now, the duo is reunited at LSG, and fans are hopeful that Rathi can mirror Badoni’s impactful performances from previous seasons.
A Memorable IPL Debut
Rathi’s first IPL appearance became even more special as he claimed his maiden wicket by dismissing Delhi Capitals’ captain, Axar Patel. In the sixth over of DC’s innings, he bowled a well-disguised googly that tempted Axar into an aggressive shot. However, the left-hander mistimed his attempt, sending the ball straight into the hands of Nicholas Pooran at square leg.
