GT’s official statement confirmed that Rabada left due to a personal matter but did not specify further. Speculation about the nature of his absence is rife, but it’s essential to respect the player’s privacy.
“Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter,” Gujarat Titans (GT) said in an official statement.
In the IPL, Rabada has consistently proven his worth with match-winning performances. With 119 wickets in 82 IPL matches at an average of 22.29 and an economy rate of 8.53, Rabada’s statistics reflect his dominance in the format. His raw pace, ability to bowl yorkers at will, and knack for picking wickets have made him a prized asset for GT since being secured for ₹10.75 crore in the 2024 IPL mega auction.
Rabada’s Performance in IPL 2025
In the 2025 season, Rabada was off to a decent start, featuring in GT’s first two matches. His performances were instrumental in keeping the opposition under pressure.
In GT’s season opener against Punjab Kings, Rabada claimed a wicket, ending with figures of 1 for 41.
