[WATCH] Harshit Rana Removes Aiden Markram With A Stunning Delivery

Harshit Rana gave Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) their first breakthrough in the IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens on Tuesday, April 8. The pacer dismissed Aiden Markram for 47 with a clever slower ball, ending a strong 99-run opening stand with Mitchell Marsh.

The wicket fell in the 11th over of LSG’s innings. Rana delivered a full-length ball outside off that nipped back in off the seam. Markram attempted a flick, but the ball sneaked through the gap between bat and pad, crashing into the off and middle stumps. You can watch the video here:

Aiden Markram fell short of scoring consecutive half-centuries, after having made 53 in his previous match against Mumbai Indians (MI). On the other hand, Harshit Rana once again showcased his ability to break key partnerships for KKR.

The pacer was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, following an impressive season where he took 19 wickets in 13 matches, playing a crucial role in the team’s third IPL title win.

As of now, before their match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were positioned fifth in the IPL 2025 points table with two wins from four matches.  The outcome of the ongoing match against LSG will influence their standing.

Marsh-Markram Stand Puts LSG in Control Against KKR

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram’s solid partnership put LSG in a dominant position against KKR in their IPL 2025 clash. At the 14-over mark, LSG stood at 154/1, with Marsh unbeaten on 78 (44) and Nicholas Pooran on 20 (12). KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, came into the game after an 80-run win over SRH and are currently fifth on the points table with two wins from four matches.

Similarly, LSG, captained by Rishabh Pant, also have two wins from four games, including a recent 12-run victory over MI, and are placed sixth due to net run rate. Both teams are aiming to build on their winning form.
