Gujarat Titans (GT) head coach Ashish Nehra’s son, Arush, was seen in tears as the team was eliminated from IPL 2025 following a defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator held on Friday, May 30, in Mullanpur. Arush, dressed in the Titans’ jersey and seated in the stands, couldn’t hold back his emotions after GT narrowly missed their target.
Chasing a daunting total of 229, Gujarat suffered an early blow with skipper Shubman Gill dismissed for just 1 in the opening over. Despite the early setback, Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar steadied the innings and kept the chase alive until the 14th over.
However, Jasprit Bumrah turned the tide with a pinpoint yorker that bowled Sundar out for a quickfire 48 off 24 balls. GT’s momentum faltered from there, and they ultimately fell short by 20 runs, bringing their IPL 2025 campaign to an end.

“The mood is quite disappointing”- Sai Sudharsan on GT’s IPL 2025 campaign
After Gujarat Titans’ 20-run loss, the left-hander expressed disappointment over how their season ended despite a strong performance in the league phase. He admitted that concluding the campaign in such a disappointing manner was far from fulfilling. The 23-year-old stated, as per ESPNcricinfo:
“It’s good to see that I had a good season or I was consistent enough for my team, but I think when the job is not finished, you don’t get the ultimate satisfaction when you get back home. So, definitely, there’s a lot of disappointment in the environment because the way we played the first 12 or 13 games, which was fantastic to see as a group or as a team from outside.”
He further added:
“Even when in hindsight when you look at a season like this, I think our team was so good they did a lot of jobs really well. So finishing a tournament like this, definitely it doesn’t give that complete satisfaction.”
