With India eyeing their first Test series win in England since 2007, and England looking to start strong at home, the series promises high-quality red-ball action and memorable moments both on and off the field.
Team India’s Test Record at Headingley
India have featured in seven Test matches at Headingley in Leeds between 1952 and 2021, recording two wins, four losses, and one draw. Their first victory at the venue came in 1986, after enduring three defeats and a draw. Dilip Vengsarkar played a pivotal role in that win, scoring 61 and an unbeaten 102, as India clinched the match by 279 runs.
The second Indian triumph at Headingley came in 2002, when they outclassed England by an innings and 46 runs. That memorable win was powered by centuries from Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly. However, in their most recent meeting at the ground in 2021, England bounced back strongly, crushing India by an innings and 76 runs.
