Rising Indian cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy has refuted recent media reports suggesting he is planning to leave Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the IPL 2026 season. Clarifying the situation, Reddy took to social media to deny any intention of exiting the franchise.

He emphasized that his association with SRH is rooted in mutual trust, loyalty, and respect. His statement read, “My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team.” These remarks came after various news outlets reported that Reddy was dissatisfied with his batting role in the 2025 IPL season.

Role Confusion Sparked Speculation

Reports claimed that Reddy had been promised a No. 4 batting slot but was later pushed down the order to No. 6 or 7, leading to frustrations. During the IPL 2025 season, he played 13 matches but scored just 182 runs and bowled only five overs—far less than expected, especially after his impactful performances in 2024.

The arrival of Heinrich Klaasen, who took over the No. 4 role, meant Reddy was underutilized, affecting his overall contribution. This shift in responsibilities was cited by media as the cause for the alleged fallout, with speculation that the young all-rounder was considering other franchise options for a more prominent role. However, Reddy has made it clear that such assumptions are baseless and that he remains committed to SRH.

Legal Troubles Add to the Pressure

While denying the IPL exit rumours, Reddy is simultaneously dealing with a legal dispute involving his former player management agency, Square The One. The agency has filed a case against him in the Delhi High Court, seeking over ₹5 crore in unpaid dues. The legal petition has been filed under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, and the matter is scheduled for a hearing on July 28, 2025.

This off-field issue adds another layer of complexity to Reddy’s otherwise promising career. Despite the legal cloud and on-field role adjustment, Reddy’s loyalty to SRH remains unwavering, reinforcing his dedication to the franchise that backed him during his breakout season in 2024.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s public denial not only ends speculation about his future with SRH but also underscores his professional integrity amidst a challenging phase.
