India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant thanked everyone for their support after suffering a toe fracture during the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the 27-year-old shared that he would start his rehabilitation once the injury healed and that he was gradually adjusting to the recovery process.

Pant also mentioned that representing India remains the greatest honor of his life and expressed his eagerness to return to the field soon.

“Appreciate all the love and good wishes coming my way. It’s been a real source of strength. I will begin rehab once my fracture heals and I am slowly settling into the process. Staying patient, following the routines and giving it my 100%. Playing for the country has always been the proudest moment of my life. Can’t wait to be back doing what I love,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, July 28.

Pant has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval, set to begin on July 31. He finishes the series with 479 runs in four matches at an impressive average of 68.43. Among Indian batters, only captain Shubman Gill (722) and opener KL Rahul (511) have scored more runs than him in the series so far.

Jagadeesan Named In India’s Squad For Final Test vs England

Just hours after India secured a hard-fought draw in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, the BCCI announced that Rishabh Pant would miss the fifth and final Test at The Oval. In an official press release, the board also confirmed that Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batter N Jagadeesan had been added to the squad for the series decider.

Ahead of his official inclusion, the 29-year-old Jagadeesan mentioned that the call-up didn’t come as a surprise, as he had been part of a core group training at the National Cricket Academy consistently over the past year and a half. The Manchester draw keeps India’s hopes alive to level the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-2 with a win at The Oval.
