South African fast bowler Nandre Burger struck first, dismissing India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal after a promising start in the opening match of the three-ODI series. The game is being held on Sunday, November 30, at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The wicket fell on the first delivery of the fourth over. Burger bowled a length ball outside off stump that straightened after pitching.

Jaiswal attempted a poke shot but only managed a faint edge, which Quinton de Kock took behind the stumps, giving the Proteas their opening breakthrough. You can watch the video here:

The left-handed batsman was dismissed for 18 runs off 16 balls, hitting two boundaries and a six. His wicket left the home side at 25 for 1 after 3.1 overs.

Rohit Sharma Survives Early Blow As India Aim To Stabilize Innings

After being sent in to bat, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave India a bright start by hitting a boundary off the very first delivery. He continued his aggressive approach but was dismissed by Nandre Burger for 18 runs off 16 balls in the fourth over. On the last ball of the same over, Rohit Sharma (1) survived when Tony de Zorzi dropped an easy catch at deep square leg.

Rohit and Virat Kohli have since been working to stabilize the innings. At the time of reporting, India were 52 for 1 after seven overs, with Rohit on 11 and Kohli on 12.
