Veteran cricketer MS Dhoni was seen fixing his bat with the help of an electric sander during a training session ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season, which is set to start on March 28 later this month.
As excitement for the new season grows, the 44-year-old has already joined the Chennai Super Kings camp. On Friday, March 13, the franchise shared a post on X showing Dhoni carefully polishing his bat. Watch the video here:

Meanwhile, on March 11, the schedule for the opening phase of the Indian Premier League 2026 season was unveiled. Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings will start their campaign with an away clash against Rajasthan Royals on March 30.
They will then host Punjab Kings on April 3 before travelling to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in an away match on April 5. Their fourth and final match in the schedule released so far is set against Delhi Capitals in Chennai on April 11.
This season, the side led by Ruturaj Gaikwad will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2025 campaign, where they ended at the bottom of the standings with only four victories from 14 matches.
MS Dhoni Holds The Record For Most Runs For CSK In IPL History
MS Dhoni has been a part of the Indian Premier League since the tournament’s inaugural season in 2008. The wicketkeeper-batter has played 278 matches, the highest by any player in the league, scoring 5,439 runs in 242 innings.
He averages 38.30 with a strike rate of 137.45, including 24 half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 87. Among those matches, 248 were played for Chennai Super Kings. Representing the franchise, he has piled up 4,865 runs from 215 innings, the highest tally by any CSK batter.
During this period, he has maintained an average of 39.23 and a strike rate of 139.11. His numbers for the team also include 22 half-centuries, along with 342 fours and 234 sixes.
