The entire nation broke into tears as Indian National Cricket Team bowed out of the ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Virat Kohli & Co lost to New Zealand in a rain-marred semifinal to crash out of the competition. One year down the line, the pain still remains among all. Reacting to the World Cup exit, India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma admitted that it was a hard pill to swallow.
Meanwhile, Rohit was in an impeccable form in the mega event scoring 5 centuries – the most by any batsman in one edition. However, one poor game from the team put them out of the World Cup. It broke down the entire team along with all the cricket lovers.

Rohit Sharma said that the 2019 World Cup exit was a hard pill to swallow as the team was in good mental space and gelling up well with one another.
“It was a hard pill to swallow and it wasn’t easy because of the team that we had and the cricket that we were playing in the entire tournament. In the lead-up to the WC, we were all in good form, we were also in good space mentally, we were enjoying each other’s company. Everything was going pretty well,” Rohit said to India Today.

Rohit Sharma, who finished as the highest run-getter in the tournament said that life has moved on from there. He also added that his dream is to win World Cups for India and he wants to focus on that.
“But then, life moves on, you have to move on, there was so much cricket that was coming up after that as well. But I want to win World Cups, that’s my dream, be it T20 or 50-overs,” he added.
Meanwhile, currently, Rohit Sharma is leading Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 in the UAE. They will hope to defend the title and lead their fifth illustrious title.
