Ravi Shastri and other members of the Team India support staff reached Dubai earlier today for India’s Tour of Australia to played between November 2020 and January 2021. Shastri, batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Bharath Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar have all reached from their respective home cities. They now will be a part of the bio-bubble before playing off to Australia with the members of the Indian team.

Meanwhile, BCCI has announced the Indian Test, ODI and T20I squads for tour down under. Rohit Sharma’s name is missing from all the three squads, while some new faces have been given a chance.

“The head coach and his team arrived yesterday. They are now in isolation and getting their three mandatory RT-PCR tests done. There is a separate bio-bubble created for the support staff along with Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari,” a senior BCCI source privy to the development told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

Sydney and Canberra are likely to host the white-ball leg (T20 and ODIs) while Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney are the venues of the four-match Test series. The first of the four Tests will be played in Adelaide from December 17 to 21. Melbourne will host the Boxing Day Test from December 26-30. Sydney will host the third (January 7-11) and Brisbane (January 15-19) the fourth and final Test match.

Meanwhile, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that Cricket Australia has made all the necessary arrangements for the Indian cricketers.

“We have requested that [families of cricketers to be accommodated on tour] because they have been in the IPL for a long time and then they go straight from the IPL to Australia because there is a 14-day quarantine. It will be solved. They [players] have already been living in a bubble for the last 80 days,” he added.
