1 Varun Chakravarthy was born in Bidar, Karnataka on August 29, 1991. Initially, he never wanted to be a cricketer until his teenage days when he fell in love with the game.

2. Varun Chakravarthy is an architect by profession, at the age of 25 he quit his job and took up cricket as a profession because he wasn’t earning much being an architect and wanted to excel in the sport.

3. His cricketing idol has always been his KKR teammate Dinesh Karthik. Varun Chakravarthy took up wicket-keeping in his early twenties because of his idol when he saw Karthik keeping for his state side Tamil Nadu.

4.Varun Chakravarthy was a net bowler at Chepauk during the 2017 season of the IPL, that’s when Dinesh Karthik first faced him and asked him to register for the IPL auctions in 2018.

5. Varun made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in 2018-2019 Vijay Hazare trophy and was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. He picked a total of 22 wickets in just 9 matches.

6. It was in 2018 when his life took a complete 360 degree turn when Kings XI Punjab bought him in IPL auctions for a whopping Rs. 8.4 crores. Since then he has gone from strength to strength and will now be a part of Team India’s side.
