Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq has predicted his PSL 2020 winner. The final will be played between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars in the National Stadium in Karachi. The former PCB chief selector has backed the Qalandars to win the tournament praising their consistent run in the tournament so far.

The PSL 2020 returned with the knockouts from November 14 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the PCB to postpone the knockouts. The group stage was played back in February-March earlier this year. With a couple of hours left for the summit clash, Inzamam-ul-Haq has picked Lahore Qalandars to win the mega tournament.

Inzamam further said that luck has not favoured the Qalandars this season and they have clicked at the right time as well. It will be a cracker of a game with both sides boasting some high-profile cricketers who can turn the table at any moment of the game.

“If someone asks for my views about the final, it could be right or wrong, but I would say that Lahore Qalandars are the favourites to win it. I say this because luck had not favoured Lahore Qalandars in the last four PSL’s. I see luck favouring the Qalandars this time around,” Inzamam-ul-Haq said in a YouTube video.

“I think the way they (Lahore Qalandars) are playing; the way their players are clicking at the right time is the reason why I give the advantage to Qalandars,” Inzamam-ul-Haq added.

The Qalandars are spearheaded by the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Tamim Iqbal, Ben Dunk, Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi. The Lahore heavyweights are expected to name an unchanged playing XI against Karachi in the PSL 2020.

Meanwhile, the PCB shifted the venue for the playoffs from Lahore to Karachi owing to poor air quality. The playoffs were postponed as COVID cases were on the rise in Pakistan, also foreign players wanted to head back home since the international borders were getting sealed to stop the spread of the disease.

“We have been keeping a close eye on air quality forecasts over the last two weeks. Following the sudden deterioration in air quality and now further expected air pollution in November, we have made a swift decision to move the matches scheduled in Lahore,” said PCB CEO Wasim Khan as quoted by Cricket Pakistan website.
