All eyes will be on the Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni as he makes his return to cricket since IPL 2020 in the UAE. He will be eyeing a couple of personal milestones in the upcoming edition of IPL 2021 which commences on April 9 with defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Dhoni would look to come all guns blazing and lead the Super Kings from the front as the franchise looks to better their result from the last season where they finished seventh and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in the history of IPL. While there’s no doubting that the pursuit of an IPL trophy would be the driving force for MS Dhoni, he also has a few personal milestones to achieve.

3 records MS Dhoni can achieve in IPL 2021:

#1 7000 T20 runs

The Chennai Super Kings skipper is one of the best finishers the world cricket has ever witnessed. Although he is in the dawn of his cricketing career, the name is still a nightmare for the opposition bowlers. He is likely to bat at the coveted No.4 or 5 position to give his side the best opportunity to win matches.

After a poor IPL season in the UAE where he scored only 200 runs in 14 matches, the 39-year-old will look to better his performances. Heading into the 14th edition of the league, Dhoni could go on to aggregate 7000 runs in the T20 format if he adds 179 more runs to his tally.

#2 200 sixes

The former India skipper is known for clearing the grounds with ease and his six-hitting abilities are second to none. MS Dhoni finishing with a six to guide India to the ICC World Cup title after 28 long years at the Wankhede Stadium will forever be etched in the memory of the cricket lovers.

As the Jharkhand-born cricketer prepares for the 14th edition of the cash-rich league, Dhoni will be eyeing the 200 sixes landmark in T20 cricket for Chennai Super Kings. He is just 14 hits away from reaching the landmark and is expected that Dhoni will reach the feat in IPL 2021.

#3 150 dismissals

When it comes to wicket-keepers, Dhoni has one of the quickest pairs of hands. Despite aging, he is still considered to be the best in the business. Having produced magical dismissals throughout his career, both for CSK and Team India, Dhoni could go on to achieve a huge new milestone in IPL season 14.

MS Dhoni will become the first wicket-keeper to inflict 150 dismissals as wicket-keeper in IPL if he adds just 2 more dismissals to his name in IPL 2021.
