MS Dhoni is all set and ready to lead Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming edition of the IPL. They finished sixth in the points table last season and also have some bad memories of not reaching the playoffs for the first time ever in the history of the tournament. Dhoni himself had a disappointing campaign with the willow last season where he could amass only 200 runs in 14 matches at an average of 25 and a strike rate of just 116.27 without a single fifty.

Meanwhile, looking forward to a new season, MS Dhoni is training hard at his practice sessions. The CSK Instagram handle shared a clip of him hitting some towering sixes as he is gearing up for the next season.

IPL 2021: Top IPL Controversies Which Marred The Tournament

MS Dhoni, who has 4632 runs in 204 IPL matches so far in his career, will look to breach the 5000-mark this season to power CSK to their fourth title in what can be his last season in the cash-rich league. CSK had failed to qualify for the playoffs last season for the first time in their history as they finished seventh on the points table.

Suresh Raina who was missing from the last season is back with the franchise ahead of this season. His return bolsters the CSK batting line-up all the more. While he will be back at number three, the opening spot for the side is up for grabs. Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran and Ruturaj Gaikwad can all open the batting along with Faf du Plessis who has been the designated opener for the franchise ever since 2018.

CSK will open their campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 10. The IPL 2021 is all about to kick off April 9 at six venues throughout India. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Playoffs as well as the final on 30th May 2021. Each team is set to play at four venues during the league stage. Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each.
