Devdutt Paddikal has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side after 2 negative COVID-19 tests. A few days back RCB had declared that Padikkal was tested COVID-19 positive on 22nd March and ever since was in isolation at his home in Bengaluru. It was believed that the talented RCB opener is likely to miss the opening two matches which could have been a big blow for the franchise.
Devdutt Padikkal Joins RCB After Negative COVID-19 Test
Now in a piece of good news for all RCB fans, Padikkal is back with the RCB squad in Chennai and asserted that he is now completely fine and raring to go for IPL 2021. The head coach of RCB, Simon Katich has also confirmed that Padikkal will be available for practice and doesn’t need any further quarantine.
“Padikkal will be available for practice once he reaches Chennai – I have been told he doesn’t need quarantine by the medical officers”, Simon Katich said.
Meanwhile, RCB posted a video of Padikkal on all their social media platforms and wrote, “Bold Diaries: Devdutt Padikkal joins the RCB camp after testing negative for COVID-19. He’s healthy, feeling better and raring to go. Here’s a message to all RCB fans from Devdutt”.

Earlier in the day, RCB fast bowler Daniel Sams was tested COVID-19 positive and is currently in isolation at a designated medical facility. Coming back to Padikkal he is now almost certain to play the season opener against defending champions Mumbai India. RCB will lock horns against MI in the first match of IPL 2021 on April 9 in Chennai. The opening combination of Padikkal and skipper Virat Kohli will be critical for the franchise throughout the season as they again chase their maiden IPL title.
