Suresh Raina batted splendidly in his first IPL match for Chennai Super Kings since 2019. The season CSK batsman was smashing the Delhi Capitals bowlers to all parts and it seemed he will score a big one. Unfortunately, Raina was run out after Ravindra Jadeja sold him a dummy as he didn’t go for the second run. Jadeja played a back of a length delivery softly towards square leg and sprinted the first run. While he was running he sensed an opportunity to steal a second run and called Raina which proved to be very costly for CSK.

After completing the first run, Raina trusted Jadeja’s call and started running for the second run. However, as Jadeja was turning back for the run the bowler Avesh Khan got in his way and he was unable to complete it. Raina at the other end was mid-way through but son realised that Jadeja is stuck at his end and tried running back. Nevertheless, it was too late as the fielder Chris Woakes got to the ball in a flash and DC skipper Rishabh Pant did the rest and executed an easy run-out.

Suresh Raina was extremely disappointed while Jadeja was seen pointing at the bowler and tried telling him he got in his way. Raina put his head down and started walking back to the pavilion after playing a fine knock of 54 runs from 36 deliveries and gave a lift to the CSK innings. His knock included 3 boundaries and 4 sixes and once again showed his class in the IPL. Furthermore, CSK is currently 155 for 6 after 18 overs with Jadeja and Sam Curran batting at the crease.
