The five times Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Mumbai Indians, are having a bumpy ride on the road of IPL 2021. The formidable team appeared pale in their last few matches as they ended them on losing notes. In their five matches, MI have ended won only two games. Their batting looked scarred and fragmented with only a handful of batters scoring runs.

As things have started to take turns in the IPL, Kieron Pollard, found himself in debates. The West Indies batter was spotted leaving the crease early in Mohammed Shami’s over. Shami did not even leave the ball when Pollard attempted to move forward by inches. This incident sparked debates on social media, and some experts are also in favour of stringent laws to curb these types of incidents. Shami could have mankaded the power-hitter, but it did not happen.

A fan on Twitter brought in the incident where Pollard tried to mankad Shikhar Dhawan, who had left the crease early. After all the debates, Pollard came up with a cryptic tweet, where he wrote, “Just Because I don’t react, doesn’t mean I didn’t notice.”

Kieron Pollard tweeted a picture with the caption, “got to love these individuals who suppose to be objective. Laughable at best.!”

In their last match against Punjab Kings, MI could only post a sub-par total of 131 runs, while invited to pad up first in their fifth match. Captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav racked up essential runs for the Paltans. The target was chased down by Punjab with no difficulty. Punjab won the encounter by nine wickets. Mumbai’s bowling looked ordinary. Punjab’s captain KL Rahul and Chris Gayle wheeled them out of the maze.

Punjab’s next game is against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Kolkata have won a single game this IPL under Eoin Morgan’s captaincy. Mumbai to face off Rajasthan Royals at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on Thursday.
