The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has banned three players after they were breaching the coronavirus norms and the biosecure bubble. The three players involved in the ban were part of the team which went were to England for the ODI series. The trio has been ordered by the board to fly back home after the video of them roaming went viral. According to the Sri Lanka board the players “will be flown back to Sri Lanka, with immediate effect”,
The three Sri Lankan cricketer who was found breaching bio-bubble banned by the board for 1 whole year. The players include Vice-captain Kusal Mendis, Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella, and Danushka Gunathilaka. They will no longer be available for the selection.

The players will miss out on the home series against India which is scheduled to start later this month also they will miss out on the much-awaited Marquee tournament T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has also expressed his disappointment for the three national cricketers failing to follow the COVID-19 protocols.
Team Sri Lanka was whitewashed by England in the recent T20I series also lately they have been in news only for the wrong reasons. Many former Sri Lankan cricketers have expressed disappointment towards the team performance in recent months.
The terrible loss against England was the team’s fifth consecutive series defeat. After the loss fans launched a campaign against cricketers on social media. The hashtag #unfollowcricketers began to trend on Facebook on Sunday Some fans requested others to not watch the national team’s matches on television.

Sri Lanka will lock horns with India for white ball series
Sri Lanka will be looking forward to facing their next challenge India after the series against England. The second squad of team India has reached Sri Lanka for three ODI and 3 T20I.
There will be a big responsibility for the captain Shikhar Dhawan, Vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Coach Rahul Dravid to give all the youngsters chance to shine in the series.
