The BCCI has informed the franchises to submit the list of replacements for the second half of the IPL by August 20. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and T Natarajan are eligible to play the second half of IPL 2021 after missing the first part due to injury.
Earlier this week, IPL’s chief operating officer Hemang Amin had told the franchises to submit the list of their replacement players by August 20. “If in case any player who was injured or unavailable during the India leg of IPL 2021 and is now fit or available then the franchise which had taken a replacement player [due to] such previous unavailability, will need to elect [either] one of them.”
Amin further explained that the players who were roped in as replacements but were not going to be retained for the second leg, who be part of IPL’s registered pool of players.
IPL 2021: Iyer, Natarajan Available For UAE Leg
Both Iyer and Natarajan have recovered completely and has passed the fitness Test to be back in their respective teams. The inclusion of the duo will give their sides much-needed lift. SRH especially will be glad to him the left-armer back with the side at the bottom of the points table.
The UAE leg will be played from September 19-October 15. 31 matches will be played over 27 days in the three venues in the UAE. Abu Dhabi will host 8 matches, Dubai 13 and Sharjah 10 games. The final will be played in Dubai on October 15. The BCCI postponed the first half of the season after multiple COVID positive cases from different camps in the first half.
