ENG vs IND 2021: “Mohammed Siraj Is Consistently Making A Case” – Aakash Chopra

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has praised Mohammed Siraj for his consistent performance at the International level. Siraj took four wickets in the first innings of the second test match against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The right-arm pacer struck back-to-back wickets of Dominic Sibley and Haseeb Hameed in the fifteenth over. He also broke the 120-run stand between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, by dismissing Bairstow for 57 runs.

In a video uploaded on Aakash Chopra’s Youtube Channel, he termed Siraj as India’s best bowler in this test match so far. Aakash said,

“Mohammed Siraj, what a story. He is consistently making a case. In fact, if we talk about this match, he is our No.1 bowler. When you have a quartet, and all are going almost equally, it is absolutely fascinating.”

“Whenever he comes to bowl, it feels like he is going to make things happen. That’s phenomenal because he is getting the ball in nicely, hitting the pads; appeals are there, and he is making things happen,” Chopra further added.

Ishant

Aakash Chopra also praised Ishant Sharma, who is making his comeback in the team after missing the Trent Bridge test due to injury. Ishant took three wickets in the innings dismissing the likes of Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran.

“Ishant Sharma’s comeback; he had a niggle in the last match and played this match. He got an edge in the beginning but was not getting a wicket. But after that, he took three wickets. He hit Jos Buttler’s stumps with an incoming ball, that is where Ishant Sharma was brilliant. Then two wickets in two balls – Moeen Ali and Sam Curran – broke the back of their lower-middle order, which is very dangerous; that got India back in the game,” said Aakash Chopra.
