The timeline went back a decade when MS Dhoni smashed a six off Nuwan Kulasekara to win India a World Cup after 28 years. Dhoni showed a glimpse of that historic tie on Thursday when he finished that proceedings with a six for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Sunrisers Hyderabad to book a playoff berth.
The CSK skipper came out in the middle with the stage set to win the game. MS Dhoni (14*) played a few shots to rotate the strike alongside Ambati Rayudu (17*) before hitting Siddarth Kaul for a towering six over the mid-wicket fence to win the match by six wickets.

Meanwhile, previously it was Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis, who set up the run chase with a 75-run opening stand in the run chase of 135 runs. Although CSK lost a couple of wickets in the cluster, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu they go past the target without further hiccups.

After crashing out of IPL 2020 from the group stages, the Super Kings have scripted an outstanding comeback to be the first team to qualify for the playoffs. MS Dhoni stated that there was a lot at stake and the credit goes to the players and support staffs for making this possible.
“It means a lot, because the last time, we said we wanted to come back strong. We are known for that and there was a lot at stake. You won’t always win games and a lot didn’t go our way last time, and it’s important not to make excuses and we have done that this year. The boys did well to keep the momentum going, and they’ve taken responsibilities to keep all departments of the game in balance so the players and the support staff get the credit,” MS Dhoni said at the end of the SRH game.
